Book Review

This book, " David Beckham," talked about his whole career through life and new challenges he has taken, also it had talked about his family and his childhood and how he started his career. The book had began with his newest experience with The Galaxy team, and then started from the beginning of his childhood in a short summary.

I would read another book by this author (Jeff Savage), because he finds the basics of the character and adds important life times into the book, that many other books don't usually add to a biography. What I liked the best about this book that Jeff Savage did was he started with the latest experience of David Beckham, and gradually started into his childhood ending with The Galaxy team again.

Events Which Shaped Or Changed My Life (Obstacles or Risks)

One of the hardest obstacles that I have been through, was when I got a red card for kicking a player on the field. I was kicked out of the game and let down my own team. We were one player short and lost the game, billions of fans blamed me, the newspaper headlines called me "stupid," "idiot," and other insults. I received death threats. I couldn't have felt any worse.

A new challenge I took on was playing on my first Spanish team and also a new team out of the UK. Within four years these challenges brought me to The Galaxy team in America. Taking these risks were not easy, but I'm very glad that I faced those new challenges.

Describing Myself With Examples From My Life To illustrate Those Qualities

Potential, a word that can describe me, because I give all the effort that I have to scoring and winning, which truly brought me far in my career. Potential is what keeps negative words from hurting me, it just makes me push harder.

Determination, another word that describes how determined I am to succeed in my career and to make soccer popular everywhere. I like to be determined because determination tells you not to stop even when you reach your goal.

Intelligence, a word that describes how I have a thought process throughout the game. Who I choose to pass to and where I aim my shots can really make a difference in the game. If you know the game of soccer it becomes easier to think of where the ball may go and where you should be at the same time.

My Effect On The World Or Other People

When I started playing soccer in England, I played many games and won many trophies, but the whole time all I wanted to do is bring soccer to a new level all around the world. Since I grew up with big football (soccer) fans (my parents), that definetly inspired me to do so.

When I came to America to play soccer on The Galaxy team, most people said that it was soccer history. There were more than 27,000 fans packed in the Home Depot Center near Los Angeles, California. Many hollywood movie stars were in the crowd too. I felt when I was playing my first game in America that it didn't matter that we lost, it's that the experience of getting to play somewhere new was incredible.

Special and/or Interesting Things About me

I (David Beckham) have won many trophies and have played on many major teams like,

The Galaxy (California) which was my first American team, The Manchesters Youth Team,

The English Premier League (EPL), and a member of the England Team for the FIFA (Ferderation Internationale de Football Association). I played on The Galaxy Team for California as my first American soccer team which was a great experience. Even though we lost our first game, the crowd didn't care because this was soccer history for them. After the game I said, "This has truly been the most remarkable week of my life!"

My Background Information

I (David Robert Joseph Beckham) was born May 22, 1975, in London, England. I grew up in the nearby town of Chingford and have two sisters, Lynne and Joanne. My Dad (David "Ted" Beckham) was a plumber, and my mom
(Sandra Beckham) was a hairdresser. I registered for my first
youth soccer team when I was eight and when I was eleven I was asked to have a trial for the Manchesters Youth soccer team, that was when my career began.
